Swatchfest: Polished by KPT - The Paris & Me collection Part 1!

Hey all!

I have my very first US indie swatches for you, how exciting! Popping my international swatching cherry is the lovely Polished by KPT, with a collection of 9 shades inspired by Paris, entitled The Paris & Me collection!

First off, a bit about the collection;
"For this collection, the main colour is purple as you notice in every polish. I tried to incorporate a touch of purple base because the colour symbolises magic, mystery, creativity, dignity and royalty. Paris & Me is centred on the mystic of a Parisian Fall that epitomises love imbued with its optimish, lust, mistakes, yet with no regret. The collection includes an array of exciting, high quality holographic and glitter lacquers. My goal for the collection was to a mix of contents to offer diversity, so I hope you enjoy the new polishes for this fall season."
With that, let's get onto the first shades!

First up we have the spectacular Lumières, a silver holographic polish made from a speciality formulated film, to create a super vivid rainbow effect. It is filled with holo sparkle as well as a base of violet and blue micro shimmers. This polish can be used as a topper, or own it own, opaque at 3 coats as shown in the photos.

Next we have the delicate Lady Roxane, a gorgeous lilac scattered holo with pink undertones. Photos show 2 easy coats. I loved the look of this polish, it seemed like it had more of a satin type look, very flattering.

Last but not least is Rouge-Lette In Love. A lovely brick red scattered holo polish with an orange undertone with violet shimmer. I have to say, I couldn't see the violet shimmer, but this is a stunning colour none the less, and very unique to my collection. Photos show 2 coats for opacity.

Halloween nails | Coffin and Ankh with stripes

Hey all!

I finally got some time to sit down and do some nail art for Halloween. Hopefully I can put together a couple more mani's in time!

I used Sally Hansen White On for the base of the stripes, Ulta3 Black Satin for the base of the coffin and black and white acrylic paint for the detailing. I also used striping tape to make my lines nice and straight and a couple of custom cut nail art brushes to create my design and clean up my lines. I topped everything off with 1 coat of Pretty Serious Artiste top coat for a smear free finish, and a coat of Poshe quick dry.

Swatch and Review: Emily de Molly The Unloved

Hey all!

I have another stunning Emily de Molly polish to show you today, and it is The Unloved. The Unloved is a deep red jelly base filled with assorted red and pink glitters with large silver holo dots. Photos show 3 coats with 1 coat Essence gel look TC and 1 coat Poshe. You could easily get away with just 2 coats for opacity, but I wanted a third for extra depth. Goodness knows why this polish is called The Unloved, because it certainly isn't going to be unloved in anyone's collection, it's stunning!

Awesome Nail Transfers by Hungry Designs in collaboration with Sayuri Nail Lacquer!

Hey all!

I have a really cool collaboration to show you today! We all know that the biggest trend in nails at the moment is nail art, and to make it more accessible to the masses, the creation of nail wraps and transfers has boomed. I'm happy to show you the first instance of indie ready-to-wear nail art brought to you by the amazing minds of Hungry Designs and Sayuri Nail Lacquer!

Sayuri Nail Lacquer Hungry Designs Nail Transfers

The lovely lady behind the creations over at Hungry Designs is Amanda. She sells art prints, brooches, necklaces, postcards, homewares and stickers featuring all of her own original art that mashes together 90's Disney with modern pop culture references, think Day of the Dead Disney Princesses taking selfies all with a creppy cute twist, plus so much more. Be sure to head over to her Etsy page and take a look!

Sayuri Nail Lacquer Hungry Designs Nail Transfers

Amanda has created 12 individual designs for the transfers, and Anthea over at Sayuri has created a lovely neutral polish, named Blank Canvas, to draw spotlight to these super cute pieces of art! All the designs are super detailed given how tiny they are, which is a super great thing cause it means they can fit on everyones nails! Even the largest designs fit comfortably on the width of my nails.

Blank Canvas is a lovely neutral nude polish with a slight shimmer. It pulls a little yellow with my skin tone, but nothing to severe. I found this polish applied better with slightly thicker coats. Short nails you would get away with 2 coats, but I used 3 to get a smooth finish. I topped this off with 1 coat of Sayuri Quick Dry Top Coat.

The instructions for applying the transfers is super simple, trim off the excess white, pell off the protective plastic, place it onto the nail then saturate through the paper backing with a wet sponge and voila! If you've ever applied a temporary tattoo, it's the same process. When my nails where dry I applied 2 coats of Sayuri's Quick Dry Top Coat to seal the designs in.

Lastly I wanted to do something a bit more nail arty with the transfers. Anthea had also included one of her holos, State of Radiance, so I knew I had to do a gradient over Blank Canvas and use the bow and rose transfer design. This is so cute, a bit girly for me but still amazingly pretty.

These amazing transfers, plus Blank Canvas will be available from 9pm Sydney time (8pm Brisbane time) tonight, 13th October! You can pick up the polish and transfers from Sayuri's website, and  from Hungry Designs website.

Be sure to follow Sayuri Nail Lacquer on facebook and instagram, as well as Hungry Designs on facebook and twitter as well!
