Illamasqua Melange from the Once Collection

Hey all!

Excited to show you this polish today, it is the stunning Melange from the Once collection that is out today!

Swatch and review of Illamasqua Melange nail polish from the Once Collection.

The Once collection contains 3 new metallic cream eyeshadows in gorgeous gold packaging, a repromoted powder blush, 1 new sheer lip gloss and 1 repromoted lip gloss and 1 new nail polish, the latter of which I am showing you today.

“Once is the beauty of the burnished, eroded and erudite. A palette inspired by the gentle and exquisite point when a flower starts to fade and becomes impossibly beautiful in its complex decline. Combined with the subtle opulence of faded gilt layers that reveal themselves the more you blend and search. She is an incandescent moment, a poem alive and a light within a pallet of decaying decadence.”
~Creative Director, Alex Box

I completely understand the colour combination used in this polish. Very soft, pretty and feminine.

Swatch and review of Illamasqua Melange nail polish from the Once Collection.

Melange is a gorgeously soft, dusky antique type teal/green filled with gold and pink flakes. It is very similar in look to Facet from the Sacred Hour collection, and is just as stunning. Because it has the pink flakes it gives it a multi-dimensional look and gives the gold an antique feel.

It was a breeze to apply as standard with Illamasqua polishes and you could get away with 1 coat, but I chose to do two. It dried very smooth, only needing 1 layer of top coat. It was also a breeze to remove, the flakes came off easily and didn't require any scrubbing.

The Illamasqua Once collection is on sale from the 29th August and is available from all counters and Myer online.

Huge thanks to Mikele from Illamasqua Australia for providing this for review.

Emily de Molly - Sabotage

Hey all!

I have a mini review for you today courtesy of the lovely Hayley from Emily de Molly. She kindly sent me 6 polishes to swatch and review, so here is the first of them.

Sabotage is a stunningly gorgeous grape purple jelly base packed with holographic glitter. The formula is smooth and applies very evenly and dries down quite flat. I did 2 coats Sabotage with 2 coats of Poshe to get that super glassy look.

When it first arrived I thought it looked very similar to Arcane The Power, The Passion, and upon closer inspection they are incredibly close. The Arcane polish contains a small amount of green glitter that can be seen quite clearly and has a finer holo glitter in it as well as the larger, however the base colour pretty much the same. To see photos of Arcane The Power, The Passion click here. If anyone would like a side by side comparison, please let me know.

Emily de Molly polish can be purchased from their website and from various international stockists. Be sure to follow them on facebook and instagram <3

Illamasqua Venous with Sinful Colors Nail Junkie

Hey all!

A few weeks back I wore Illamasqua Venous, it is described as a "bold blue green" on the website, but is actually more like a medium teal that leans more to the green side. While perusing my collection for something to add to the mani, I stumbled across Sinful Colors Nail Junkie, a blog sale purchase from many, many moons ago, and decided it was perfect to wear over Venous.

Turns out that I was correct that these two would looks great together as they are a match made in freaking heaven! I used 1 coat of Illamasqua Venous and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Nail Junkie.

Unf, perfection <3

Emily de Molly and Femme Fatale Cosmetics Jelly Glitter Gradient

Hey all!

I wanted to share the mani I did for a guest post for the lovely Christine over at Serenity Nails!

To get this mani I used Maybelline Sapphire Siren for the base, then I put down a coat of Emily de Molly Dark Depths over the whole nail. Once dry, I placed Femme Fatale Coldwraith 3/4’s of the way up the nail allowing some of Dark Depths to peek through and then completed the look with Femme Fatale Vortex Remnants on the tip and feathered it halfway up the nail. When dry I finished it off with a coat of Essence Gel Look top coat and Poshe Quick Dry to give it that super glassy look.

I love doing jelly glitter gradients so hopefully so I can do more in the future!

Glam Polish - Conjuring

Hey all!

I made a purchase from Glam Polish the other week and I grabbed Mystic, Sunrise Over Sea, Conjuring and Maleficent and was gifted with a mini of Tiffany. As soon as I got them I had to wear one as soon as I could, I chose Conjuring.

Conjuring is a dark forest green scattered holographic base packed full of holographic glitter and is from the Cast A Spell Collection. Photos show 2 coats with top coat. It does dry a little gritty so I would suggest using a slightly thicker top coat to give you a glassy finish.

Glam Polish can be purchased in Australia from their website, and internationally from their stockists. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep updated.

Illamasqua Rare

Hey all!

A quick swatch for you today, and that is of Illamasqua Rare, a bright neon highlighter yellow that doesn't need a white base!

I used 3 coats for the photos above, but would of only needed 2 if my base coat wanted to play nice (added too much thinner, opps!). I seriously love this polish, I desperately want to use it as a base for some nail art, hopefully I can get around to that soon!

Review: Born Pretty Store Lace Water Decals

Hey all!

Last of my review items kindly supplied from Born Pretty Store. Use my coupon code NWX31 for 10% off your order!

I have been wanting to do a nude, black and silver mani for a while and figured this was the perfect time to use my Lace Water Decals.

I used the water decals on my ring and pinkie finger over Essie Sand Tropez, Loki's Lacquer custom Holy F*ck on the middle finger and Ulta3 Black Satin with a Swarovski rhinestone also from Born Pretty Store.

The water decals are super easy to use and I find them very easy to place. A nice touch is that they do dissolve in acetone so you can clean up around the edges and sidewalls of your nails to get a really crisp, clean look.

Holographic Splatter

Hey all!

I asked IG what I should post next from a preview picture and survey says, my holographic splatter mani! I am seriously in love with this mani, it has the perfect amount of sparkle (and if you don't know by now, for me, that is completely over the top!), mess and fun! I want to try this same look but with other colours splattered over the top of the black!

Hunnggggg that holo!

I first applied 1 coat of Essence Icy Princess, followed by 2 coats of the custom polish, Holy F*ck (yes I named it haha) from Tara over at Loki's Lacquer. Once dry I covered my cuticles and fingers in a thin layer of Vaseline and dipped a small straw into a bottle of black polish then quickly blew through the straw to splatter it on my nails, cleaned up the mess and finished it off with top coat.

I do want to thank Tara for making the silver holo polish and gifting it to me, she decided to close her shop due to family commitments but was kind enough to make this from her remaining supplies.

Bettie Pain Polish - The Dark Forest Collection.

Hey all!

I have something super exciting to show you today, and that is the debut collection from the new Aussie Indie brand, Bettie Pain Polish! The Dark Forest Collection will be available from the 16th August.
Bettie Pain Polish nail polish swatch The Dark Forest Colletion

Just a quick side note before I start the review, all polished have been reformulated to be more opaque after feedback from all of us that swatched them and they are now all 2 coaters. Win!

The Dark Forest Collection consists of 6 polishes that are a jelly based consistency which makes them wonderful for layering, however they are far to sheer for my liking, but as mentioned above they have been reformulated.

First up is the stunningly unique Scattered Floor, a beautiful brown shimmery polish with green, gold and copper glitters. This was one of my favourites because of it's unique colour, formula was a little thin but manageable and opaque in 3 coats.

Next up is Cobweb, a shimmery silver. Personally I wouldn't wear this one on it's own, but it would look incredible over pastel polishes. Photos show 3 coats.

Next up is Poison Berry, red jelly base with red flecks. This one stunned the hell out of me! Opaque in 3 coats and covered any VNL, the flecks in this where gorgeous. Formula wise this was a bit runny and I did flood my cuticles but the red base did not stain so clean up was a breeze.

Ok, now we have hit my favourite in the collection, Fruit of the Dragon. A bright magenta jelly with subtle silver flecks and black glitter. This colour is stunning! The name didn't click until I had finished painting my nails and I went "this looks like a dragon fruit" and then I saw the name, so she certainly did a fantastic job recreating her inspiration. Photos show 3 coats with a small amount of VNL.

Now we have Wild Flower, a beautiful blurple jelly base packed with different coloured flecks and glitter, this one was stunning, but way to sheer so I chose to wear this as 2 coats over a blurple creme polish. I look forward to seeing photos with the new formula as this polish.

Last but not least is Midnight, and another favourite of mine! Blue micro glitters in a sheer black base. This one could not be worn on it's own so I wore 2 coats over a black creme, so subtle but amazingly gorgeous.

Overall, I love the colours in this collections, formula wise they needed some improvement and that has already happened. I look forward to seeing photos of the reformulated polishes and wish Bettie Pain Polish all the best!

Their collection will be launched on the 16th August and can be bought from Etsy. Be sure to follow them on Instagram and Facebook to receive more info about the upcoming release.
