Does wearing your favourite old faded jeans and a t-shirt make you feel sexy? Great! Just bought a pair of bright red stilettos that you plan on wearing out tonight? Rock ‘em! These colours are inspired by those things that make us feel our most vibrant and alive.

Lady Is A Vamp collection features 6 shades in total; a crème polish, 3 glitter based polishes and 2 holographic shades.

First up is Boudoir, a gorgeous blue creme with gold glitter and flakes with fine copper thrown in as well. I loved this blue base in this, it takes a lot to get me to go gaga over a blue, but this one was gorgeous. Perfectly opaque in 2 coats with a good amount of glitter.

This stunning shade is Deceptively Sweet and my golly gosh is it beautiful! This was a surprise favourite of mine, it looked a little pink in the bottle, but was definitely a lilac on the nail. It is a lilac based creme with fine gold glitter, love! This looked amazing matte as well. Photos are 2 coats of perfection.

Next we have Faded Jeans. I am still on my grey kick so I really liked this, and the glitter gave it a nice edgyness. Faded Jeans is a lovely light grey creme base packed with multi coloured glitter. Photos show 2 easy peasy coats for perfect coverage.

Aghhhhh!! Jealousy! The most amazing, perfect, wonderous berry fuschia holo ever! The holo rainbow on this is making it look a little more purple than it is under flatter lighting that would bring out more of the berry base. Photos show 2 coats of perfection.

Next is Maneater, oh my god, Jacinta has really done an amazing job on the holos in this collection! This is a green toned teal with teal/turquoise glitter. I wondered if we would ever see glitter in a holo polish and I have to say I love the effect! It gived a beautiful depth to the polish in bright sun, but also gives it interest under flatter lighting when the rainbow cannot be seen. Love! 2 simple, easy coats.

Last but not least is With My High Heels On, a beautiful blue toned red creme polish. So flattering on every skin tone, I love how pale it makes my skin look. This would be a 1 coater on people with shorter nails but I had some VNL so I added a second coat to hide it. Photos show 2 easy coats.

Overall, I am seriously impressed with this collection! The colours and formulas where amazing and applied perfectly!

Illamasqua Strawberry Nails

Hey all!

Figured I would actually blog about these while they are still relevant :P

I'm participating in a nail art challenge on IG run by the lovely Teneil (@shadesofteebee @shadesofphoenix) and the prompt today was fruit! Having never done a fruit mani before I browsed through pinterest until I came across this from AlpsNailArt.

I decided to take her idea of denting the polish and adding a few extra bits, like adding black into the dents afterwards for the seeds and painting more of the leaves on the tops of the strawberries, I am super happy with these.

Polishes used where all Illamasqua, Throb, Ruthless, Elope, Rampage and Smash.

Illamasqua Facet tape mani

Hey all!

After last months untriedmay fun I have really gotten into nail art a bit more and it's been quite enjoyable so far! If you have been missing my swatch posts, please let me know and I will do some more, I will have some more soon regardless as I have some new pretties from Powder Perfect to show you all!

This mani was inspired by some black and gold nails I saw on IG, but I decided to do it a bit differently by using a base of Illamasqua Facet and striping tape. I know striping tape sucks but I wanted to give it a go anyway! I was pleasantly surprised with how well this came out! I did however have to remove in Photoshop some silver that had come off the tape and stayed stuck to my nails, poo!

Base was 2 coats Illamasqua Facet then 1 coat Ulta3 Black Satin over the tape that was then quickly removed.

OPI Push and Shove nail art

Hey all!

I was at the Sydney Hair Expo over the long weekend covering the event for Culture Magazine and managed to score OPI Push and Shove for $10 from the OPI stall (got one for a friend too), win!

OPI Push and Shove cartoon nail art manicure

I was excited and worried both at the same time about getting P&S to apply evenly, I had heard that even with it's special base coat you would still get ridges and the fact it doesn't recommend using top coat was a worry for me, so I went in with a plan, I was going to test it first on nail wheels until I found a combination that worked. Thankfully my first attempt worked perfectly!

I had heard of girls using top coat as a base coat to smooth out their nails before applying P&S, but because the TC didn't have much to stick to it would peel off, so I took that idea and modified it slightly. I put down a layer of a ridge filling base coat, I'm my case it was my favourite Essence 24/7 base coat, this base coat is perfect, because it is rather thick so fills in ridges perfectly leaving a smooth finish, but it also dries down matte so polishes stick to it much better. With this done I then applied a layer of Poshe quick dry top coat, good so far! I made sure not to touch the top coat when it was drying so I didn't put any oils on it that would affect the polish when I went to apply P&S. I found that if I touched the top coat at all on my tests that it would cause P&S to pull away and shrink like how a crackle polish works. Next up where 2 coats of P&S, they went on perfectly. Lastly I added the details to create a cartoon look then topped the whole thing off with Illamasqua Matte top coat.

I found that top coating Push and Shove made little difference to it's appearence once the top coat had completely dried, so I dunno what OPI was on about with telling you not to top coat.

At the OPI stall they also had buy 1 get on free on Nail Envy, so I got 2 for $15, another win! I've had to go back to Nail Envy as Duri has made my nails peel something horrific :( Also managed to pick up Colour Club Wild Child for $2.

OPI Push and Shove, Nail Envy and Color Club Wild Child

I have to say I am a huge fan of Push and Shove, when it is applied over the correct combination of bases it looks so amazing, definitely worth the extra effort!

Untried May - Update 2 & missed Blogiversary

Hey all!

So May has ended and that means #untriedmay is over! I am super happy with all the mani's I did during this month! With focusing on doing #untriedmay I completely missed my 2nd year Blogiversary, so let's just count all of this months nails as a celebration haha.

Part 1 can be seen here! The final recap!

Zoya Holly and Apple gradient nail polish mani

This is Zoya Holly with Zoya Apple sponged onto the tips. Green <3

Zoya Veruschka nail polish

Zoya Veruschka nail polish top coated

Next was Zoya Veruschka, a pretty matte green with shimmer, but horrible forumla. I top coated it a few days later hence the tip wear.

Holo gradient using A-England Dragon and St George

Another green mani, I was on a green kick obviously! A holo gradient of A-England Dragon and St George, absolute love.

Holo gradient using Femme Fatale Burning Dusk and Ruby Hare

Aannndd another holo gradient using Femme Fatale Cosmetics Ruby Hare and Burning Dusk. Holo gradients are so easy as they blend seamlessly.

Kleancolor Disco Purple nail polish

This was not really an untried as I have blogged about it before, but I needed to bring attention to how pretty Kleancolor Disco Purple is again, it was the base for the following mani.

Alanna Renee Witchling, Femme Fatale Cosmetics Wolfsbane and Wickerman Embers mani glitter gradient nail polish

Alanna Renee Witchling, Femme Fatale Cosmetics Wolfsbane and Wickerman Embers mani glitter gradient nail polish

And lastly another glitter gradient using Alanna Renee Witchling and Femme Fatale Cosmetics Wolfsbane and Wickerman Embers. I even made a Youtube tutorial for how I do these, go check it out!

Untriedmay mani wrap up with Zoya, Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Illamasqua, Essie, Alanna Renee, A-England, Pretty Serious Cosmetics, Emily de Molly, Shades of Pheonix nail polishes

Overall, I was super happy with my involvement in this tag, it was the kick in the butt I needed to try and combine polishes and colour combos and get my nail art on a bit. Which one was your favourite?
