Halloween Challenge 2013 - Zombies

Hey all!

Today is the second challenge mani and the prompt was zombies!! Yay! I lurve zombies, nearly as much as bats, so I went a little crazy and abstract with this one. I got the idea from a tutorial I saw just after Halloween last year, but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was :(

Of course I had the spook it up a bit more and use Sir Kutna Hora, our replica skull we bought at the Sedlec Ossuary aka Church of Bones in Czech Republic. That place is amazing! If you ever get to go the Czech Republic, you need to see this place.

Polishes used where Illamaqua Ruthless, Throb and Boosh as well as OPI Skull and Glossbones and Stranger Tides. I painted my fingers black and added more 'blood' with red using acrylic paint.

To do this mani I put on a coat of Ruthless, when that was dry I put a very thick coat of Skull and Glossbones. After about 30 seconds I floated a medium thickness layer of Poshe quick dry topcoat over it and again after about 15 seconds I started moving and smooshing the topcoat and the polish below into rips, dents and creases. When completely dry started adding the details. I rubbed Stranger Tides into the creases to add a bit more colour, dabbed a light bit of black into it with my finger and layered the bright red, dark red and black around the edged to mimik blood. Done! Lot's of fun and surprisingly quick! The mani encompasses everything you shouldn't do when painting your nails haha!
