Review: Alanna Renee Tranquil

Hi all,

The lovely Alanna of Alanna Renee and Pretty Purple Polish contacted me about doing a review of a few of her polishes, I eagerly accepted her offer because since purchasing Pacific and Black Cherry from her first collection I have been dying to own more of her polish. I chose Tranquil from her first collection and Avada Kedavra and Horcrux from her latest Magical World collection based around Harry Potter. Today I will be showing you the gorgeous Tranquil.

Tranquil is a gorgeous turquoise filled with lavender hex glitter, small light blue and purple hex glitter, large turquoise square glitter and small indigo flakes. An absolute dream to apply, an easy 2 coats, with 1 coat of Poshe top coat.

I got so many comments when I wore this polish, mostly from men! They seem drawn to turquoise :P

The lavender glitter in this really makes this a stand out polish, it just give the polish a really soft feminine touch. The large square glitters where easy to get out of the bottle and all the glitters applied nice and even with no bald patches.

Alanna Renee are Big 3 Free and can be purchased in Australia off her own website for $7.99 for a 12mL bottle and also Internationally through stockist that can be found here.

Femme Fatale Fatal Attraction

Hi all!

I am still trying to catch up on my back log of photos so here is another quick post! Aww tiny nails.. The stunning Femme Fatale Cosmetics Fatal Attraction! Pure bliss in a bottle!

This polish is a glitter topper so it has no coloured base, however, it is so dense you could build it up to opacity in 3-4 coats. It also drys a little gritty so you def needs to double up on top coat. This glitter in this beauty shifts from a plum red purple to a blue purple, and has so much depth! Can definitely get lost in this one.

The photos below show 1 coat Ulta3 Mulberry and 2 coats Fatale Attraction with 2 coats Poshe topcoat.

This polish can be purchased on Femme Fatale Cosmetics website for $9.85 for a 12mL bottle. Femme Fatale is also Australia's first stockist of international brands!

Review: Deadset Babes Nail Polish

Hey all!

A little while back I was contacted by the girls over at Deadset Babes about reviewing some of their polish, and I was ecstatic so naturally I said yes. The girls kindly sent me 3 polishes for consideration. A little background, Deadset Babes is a relatively new Aussie Indie brand based out of Sydney and is run by 2 friends Emma and Bella. This is going to be pic heavy ;)

First up is Teenage Crime, a clear polish base filled with Matte Dark & Light Purple, Lavender & White hex glitter in all different sizes.

My bottle was very very runny, which was unfortunate as it meant a looooooot of fishing to get the glitters out of the bottle. I ended up having to dab about 2 coats worth on to get any glitter out at all, this meant I had a lot of the clear base on my nail. The swatches are 2 coats Illamasqua Velocity with 2 dabbed coats of Teenage Crime, no top coat.

Next up is Red Alert, a clear polish base filled with large sized matte Red Squares & Hearts and small squares, large black stars & small squares and a sprinkle of red holographic glitter for sparkle.

This bottles base was much better than Teenage Crime so I am hoping the runnyness is not a consistent thing. I must say, I did like the fine glitter that they put in this polish, it gave it a little more substance than just being another huge glitter in a clear base, I did still have to fish quite a bit to get any of the star or heart glitter out. Swatches are 1 coat Kleancolour Tangerine Burst, 1 dabbed coat of Red Alert and 1 coat normal top coat.

Last up is Midnight at Tiffany's, a clear polish base filled with small & medium sized Black & Teal matte glitters.

If you follow my IG you would of seen this polish over a different base colour a few weeks back. Again, this polish was incredibly runny and thus meant fish city. It's a shame because I like the teal glitters. Swatches are 2 coats Revlon Royal with 2 dabbed coats of Midnight at Tiffany's, 1 coat normal top coat. I really really like this colour combo.

My final thought on these polishes, if they improve the base used these will be great at I looove the colour combos they are coming up with. I have heard from a few other Indie makers that where has been some bad base floating around at the moment.

Deadset Babes nail polish can be bought from their Etsy store for $9 for a 12ml bottle, and they also ship internationally!

Happy Blogiversary to me and Femme Fatale Coldwraith

Hi all!

Yayyyyyyyyy today celebrates my blog turning 1 year old! I know I haven't been posting a lot the past few months but I am working to post more often. I appreciate and love every single one of you which has been following me since I started. I started this blog to fill a hole when I wasn't working after quitting my shitty job, and I fell in love with it and so lets get on with it! Today I have another manicure! Yay!

This is the first time of featuring a Femme Fatale polish on this blog so a little background is in order!
Femme Fatale Cosmetics is a home based business run by Sophie Broadbent out of the Gold Coast in Australia. They specialise in making custom blend lacquers as well as gorgeously unique eyeshadows. They where also the first Australian based stockist of national and international based nail polish and sell their products at an incredibly competitive rate. Which is awesome news for us!

I.Freaking.Love.This.Polish! Femme Fatale Cosmetics Coldwraith. Holy shit haha! Coldwraith is a dense blue glitterfest in a deep blue base, with hints of teal holo and flashes of purple.

I have 1 coat Illamasqua Phallic, 1 coat of Coldwraith with Poshe top coat on in the pictures below.

This is honestly one of the most beautiful and complex glitters I own, definitely at the top of my fave polish list.

Mmmmm yummy macro!

Again I want to say thank you to everyone that has supported, followed and read this blog over the past year. Lets hope for an even more successful second year!

LookWhatTheBatsDraggedIn and Pretty Serious Cosmetics 1 year Anniversary!

Hi all!

Today I have a pretty special post, the 13th May is Pretty Serious Cosmetics 1 year birthday annnddd the 16th May is my 1 year blogiversary! Since Pretty Serious is having a competition for their 1 year I figured I should tie it in with my birthday and bring you an extra special manicure! The rules of the PS competition state that the entrant must have purchased their anniversary polish, Daphne's Birthday Party, and that a mani using said polish must be posted on the date of the 13th.

Let get straight to the manicure! I am stupidly proud of these nails, they took hours, but I love them. Polishes used where Illamasqua Stance and Serenity, Ulta3 Mulberry and Black Satin, Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine, Sally Hansen White On and of course Pretty Serious Daphne's Birthday Party! Micro beads where from eBay and spikes where from BornPretty Store.

I hope you enjoyed this mani as much as I had fun doing it! I actually really do enjoy doing nail art, but I really need to be in the right mood to do it, most of the time I am just too lazy :P
