OPI and more Black Milk

Hi all!

I received some OPI polishes in the mail last week after seeing a sale on them on brandsexclusive.com.au. They had them for $10.95 each with $5 flat shipping, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try them out as I have never bought OPI polish before. Also during the same trip to the post office my Black Milk order arrived, which made me very happy, so there are a few photos at the end of what I picked up during the Nylon Wars Ep 2!

More everything after the jump!

Ok, straight onto the OPI's.

Grabbed 'Skull & Glossbones' because of the name. I don't think it will suit my skin tone of its own, so I will probably use this for nail art manis, watermarble etc. A light bone grey colour from The Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides Collection S/S 2011.

'Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?' One from the 2012 S/S Holland Collection. I kinda want to call this a slightly more red toned lilac with gold shimmer.

'Pepe's Purple Passion' from The Muppets Collection 2011. A dark berry red with gold flakies.

Lastly for the OPI's, 'Alpine Snow' a matte white from their Fall 2009 Matte collection.

This last polish was something I grabbed whilst browsing Priceline the other day. Savvy by DB. A cheapy brand made in China that sells for $3. 'Purple Viking' is a fine purple glitter with medium red/orange hex glitters in a clear base. I was hoping this would be an opaque polish like the Sally Hanson 'Gem Crush' polishes, but no. I might make a mini fraken with this by adding a base colour to the glitter to make it more opaque.. Maybe I should just get some the of 'Gem Crush' polishes and be done with it.

Also during my Priceline shopping I grabbed this nail polish remover to give a try. I normally use the pink Manicare acetone free polish, but I go through it pretty fast as you can only get small bottles and they cost about $6. I haven't seen large bottles of acetone free polish anywhere. This was $3.50, so worth a shot. I have tried the Priceline acetone free polish for use on acrylic nails and it just eats through them. Will see how this goes.

Now the fun clothing part! These where the 2 items I grabbed during the latest Black Milk release, the Lace Evil Cheerleader dress and the Mechanical Leggings designed by the Japanese artist Shichigoro.

That is all for today!

  2. Hi,
Discovered your blog today - I adore your swatches, your nails are a beautiful shape and length! Would you mind doing a post on how you care for your nails? I find it really difficult to grow my nails and stop them flaking.
    Thanks :)

    1. Hi Alison, thank you for your lovely comment! Unfortunately my nails are fake! Until last week I had acrylic nails that I did myself, however, you may be in luck! Since taking them off my nails are in some dire need of TLC so I am possibly going to document my quest for healthy strong natural nails. There are some wonderful nail care blogs out there with some very helpful and useful info, you should check them out :D
